Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical Unit Full-Time | 12-Hour Shifts | Northwest Florida Community Hospital | Chipley, Florida Northwest Florida Community Hospital is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical team. Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans. Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies safely and accurately. Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes, and communicate findings promptly to physicians and the interdisciplinary team. Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, discharge instructions, and ongoing care. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case management, and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care. Respond appropriately to emergencies and changes in patient condition. Maintain infection prevention practices and ensure patient safety at all times. Supervise and delegate appropriate tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and other support staff. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and departmental meetings. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Qualifications: Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or obtained within the required timeframe. One (1) year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience preferred. Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to providing exceptional patient care. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a 12-hour shift. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and squatting. Primary Functions JOB DESCRIPTION The Registered Nurse is a clinically competent practitioner of pediatric, family centered nursing care. The nurse provides safe nursing care to the pediatric primary care patients with minimal guidance and bases practice on identified principles and standards of care.
