Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. The Licensed Practical Nurse - Allergy will provide a high level of general care and education to patients by using their knowledge and skills to promote the goal of The Ultimate Patient Experience. Previous allergy experience required. Schedule: Full time, 30+ hours. Availability Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays within operating hours of 7:00am-7:30pm . Licensed Practical Nurse - Allergy Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance the quality of service and care offered to patients and for respective provider(s). Provide general care and education to patients in accordance with OSHA regulations. Administer prescribed medications and treatments, including allergy shots, under the direct or indirect supervision from a provider. Prepare necessary supplies for allergy testing and treatments. Perform lung function testing (FeNO and Spirometry) with and without bronchodilators. Assist in the interpretation of patch testing results and perform placement and removal as directed by an RN or provider. Maintain the immunotherapy room with necessary supplies and materials, ensuring cleanliness. Administer allergy shots and ensuring provider is on site. Observes, records and reports patients’ vitals and reactions to treatments. Assesses patients’ needs and suggest solutions to patient care problems. Supervise triaging of patient communications (through email and/or portal). Maintains accurate patient records, document all visits in EMR. Assures patient stays for required observation time after injections. Learn and perform immunotherapy vial mixing procedures and proper documentation in accordance with current regulations. Reacts appropriately in patient reaction situations, informs physician and/or other clinical staff as necessary to mitigate adverse reactions. Assist providers in recording prescribed treatments, medications, lab requisitions, prescriptions, prior authorization (including biologics), and procedures within established guidelines. Understand provider to patient flow and anticipate provider’s next steps to the best of their ability. Demonstrate clinical competence and sound knowledge base in the provision of quality patient care. Ensure allergy test sets and emergency kits are filled, current, and up to date. Confirm that insurance benefits have been verified prior to the preparation of allergy serums. Regularly interact with physicians, other providers, and staff to identify and resolve problems. Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate articles, journals, and related materials; and by attending seminars and conferences as needed. Report improperly operating medical equipment and instruments to the supervisor. Perform inventory responsibilities, including but not limited to, ordering and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested. Qualifications Previous Allergy experience required. Graduate from an LPN education program approved by the respective state Education Department. Pass the NCLEX-PN examination. Active LPN license in the state working in required. CPR and AED Certifications required. Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems. Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Excellent patient relations and customer service skills. Open availability to work during weekdays. Working knowledge of HIPAA & OSHA compliance. Department: MDS Reports To: Administrator Position Summary The Regional MDS Coordinator is responsible for overseeing MDS processes, PDPM optimization, and reimbursement integrity across assigned facilities. This role provides clinical, regulatory, and operational support to ensure accurate coding, timely submissions, and maximized reimbursement while maintaining compliance with all CMS guidelines. The position also serves as a key resource for education, auditing, and interim facility support. Key Responsibilities PDPM & Reimbursement Oversight Maintain and update the Regional PDPM Review Spreadsheet to ensure accurate tracking of all PDPM-related data. Review key reimbursement drivers (e.g., clinical conditions, functional status) to determine optimal Assessment Reference Dates (ARDs); utilize available tools or services as needed. Identify opportunities for Interim Payment Assessments (IPAs) and ensure appropriate implementation. Ensure compliance with CMS-required timeframes for MDS completion and submission. Verify that complete and accurate clinical documentation is obtained from hospitals for all admissions. Monitor and validate diagnoses for accuracy, appropriateness, and alignment with reimbursement and care planning. Review and track Utilization Review (UR) sheets weekly to ensure alignment between clinical status and payer coverage. Ensure appropriate issuance and accuracy of beneficiary notices, including NOMNC and ABN, when applicable.
