Returns calls as needed. Responds to MyChart as needed. Works in-baskets, daily work flow logs, and work queues in EMR/Practice Management system. Answers incoming calls, schedules appointments, checks-in and out patients, and completes pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries as needed. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. This individual will perform technical, patient care and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting by coordinating all elements of the patient visit. Position Responsibilities Responsible for facilitating the smooth flow of patients through the clinic, interacting with patients, families, nursing staff and LIP’s to the satisfaction of all parties involved. Completes all Provider Orders ensuring that the patient understands and verbalizes their understanding of the discharge instructions. Documents completed orders and actions taken by the Medical Assistant shall be entered into the patient’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) and submitted for processing within the defined period. Completes all administrative and non-clerical activities, which are received through El Rio Health IT systems and/or the Patient Portal in support of clinical operations, completing all required documentation on these activities.
