OR High school diploma or equivalent and completion of one of the following programs: medical assistant, emergency medical technician, nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse, armed services medic, or patient care technician. Responsibilities Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs and recording medical history. Assist the physician during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments are available. Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients and staff effectively. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain patient confidentiality. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Basic proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and general office software. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. The Medical Assistant will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Advanced Practice Nurse (APN), or Physician, assisting with a range of clinical and administrative tasks such as administering vaccines, conducting EKGs, recording vital signs, maintaining accurate patient records, and collaborating with the healthcare team to enhance patient care.
