Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Nurse Anesthetist (Certified Registered) position is to administer anesthesia and anesthesia-related care in four general categories: (1) pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation; (2) anesthesia induction, maintenance and emergence; (3) post-anesthesia care; and (4) perianesthetic and clinical support functions. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Education Program with a Master’s Degree in a related field; or graduation from a program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Education programs prior to January 1998 is required. Candidate must have sufficient sensory capacity to observe the patient and patient monitors. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively in both academic and health care settings. Must show evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in teams and possess demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, and effectively function in the face of uncertainties inherent in clinical practice. Overview Position Overview Legacy Health offers an exciting growth opportunity to join a well-established team of collaborative and energetic Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs). This role provides the opportunity to practice across both Level III and Level IV NICU settings within the Legacy system. NNPs are integral to delivery attendance and the medical management of high-risk neonates and infants, including daily rounding on NNP service patients. In addition to clinical care, the role includes telemedicine resuscitation coverage for Legacy Level I nursery sites and opportunities to contribute to non-clinical initiatives that support the highest standards of care for NICU patients and their families. Level IV NICU – Randall Children’s Hospital The Level IV, 45-bed NICU is located within Randall Children’s Hospital, a freestanding, nine-story pediatric facility. This unit provides comprehensive care supported by a full range of pediatric subspecialties, including cardiac and neurosurgical services, genetics, and ECMO. Care is delivered within a family-integrated model, supported by a dedicated pediatric transport team. Notably, this role does not require transport responsibilities. Level III NICU – Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center The Level III, 22-bed NICU at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center is a growing unit actively expanding its NNP team. Scheduling is flexible and evolving, with 12-, 16-, and 24-hour shift options available to support work-life balance and team coverage. Scheduling & Practice Model This position is based in the Portland/Vancouver area and requires dual licensure in Oregon and Washington. NNPs rotate between both NICU sites, with frequency tailored to individual preferences while ensuring 24/7 coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays. A well-established self-scheduling model and structured holiday tracks contribute to provider satisfaction and balance. Overview About the Role Leverages extensive subject matter expertise on clinical systems and knowledge of clinical operations and workflows to coordinate the activities of medical staff in the planning, development, implementation, and support of clinical information systems/solutions to improve the delivery of patient care and hospital operations. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Assists physicians, nurses, and other clinicians with design, implementation, workflow optimization, and issue resolution related to electronic health record (EHR) and other clinical applications. Functions as a liaison between the clinical community and IT analysts, and a key resource for application and/or clinical workflows and software systems. Develops and manages complex projects. Works with clinical users to understand clinical information technology project needs. Recommends resource planning and support needs to ensure successful project implementation. Oversees the design and development of application programs from analysis to implementation and assists with these duties as needed. Creates system specification and workflow documents for new projects and/or features. Maintains existing specifications and project documents for complex clinical IT initiatives that include technical details, user expectations, project goals, work effort, accountability, and deliverables. Licensure in a clinical profession is required. Five (5) years of experience in information systems with preference given to candidates within a hospital environment. Direct experience with electronic medical records is a plus; prior Epic experience is highly desirable.
