Description Job Description PeaceHealth is seeking a Patient Team Support (CNA) - ICU for a Full Time, 0.90 FTE, Night position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $22.99 – $34.50. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. ­ This position is for CNAs. Additional training will be provided to cover the unit clerk role on the unit. This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting. Provides patient care within the scope of a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A) as directed by the Registered Nurse. Details of the Position Performs assigned tasks within the scope of a Certified Nursing Assistant and in accordance with PeaceHealth and general nursing policies and procedures. Meets or exceeds customer needs as a patient advocate, exercises discretion in the management of patient information and assures strict patient confidentiality. Reports significant changes in patient’s status to the appropriate care team member. Responsible for clerical duties on the unit, to include but not limited to: Accurate transcription of orders; Coordinates patient admission, discharge and transfer as applicable to unit; Coordinates patient registration, scheduling and insurance authorizations as applicable to unit; Provides effective communication linkage between all care team members. Monitors, maintains and orders unit supplies. Promotes the safety and security of the unit through a working knowledge of fire, biohazard, electrical safety, infection control policies and disaster plan and proper ergonomics. Promotes a safety-conscious work force and maintains good housekeeping practices. Within the scope of a Nursing Assistant; demonstrates the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual patient care appropriate to the age of patients served by demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Communicates appropriately with the person served regardless of their age. Performs other duties as assigned. Join the University of Chicago Medicine as an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) on the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. In this role, you will provide direct primary health care to patients, in collaboration with consulting physician and the multidisciplinary health team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentials committee, to include identification, management, and/or referral of health problems. Conduct comprehensive or episodic health assessments and develop patient care plans within clinical nursing practice and medical care protocols. Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record the date in the patient's record; screen patients to determine the need for hospital admission, making referrals to other disciplines as indicated, write progress notes; prepare patient workups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings; obtain psychosocial history relevant to patient care, and assume responsibility for developing therapeutic relationships with patients. Order and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient. May prepare statistical reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions. Act as a resource for clinical skills to staff on or off the unit. May participate in teaching students and residents in techniques and procedures which are unique to specific clinical setting.
