We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities. WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities. Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR Law. Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing. Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition. and/or the care plan. Collaborate with the primary care physician. WOUND NP QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Arkansas. Board Certification. DEA licensure (Optional) Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties. Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers. Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc. Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified Experience working in a long-term care setting. Ability to work with an EMR. Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care. Total cash compensation includes earnings from per visit point pay and hourly pay and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. This role receives two types of compensation depending on the work being performed. When conducting visits, you will be paid per visit point rate compensation. Your per visit pay will be calculated by multiplying your per visit point rate by the productivity points you accrue for various types of visits. Each type of visit is assigned a certain number of productivity points that is inclusive of "direct" and "indirect" patient care activities. Visits are assigned based on patient and business needs. The number of visits performed each week will vary based on individual productivity targets and the productivity points assigned to the visits performed.
