Assistant Director of Nursing (Must be RN)

$85,000 salary!!! JOB SUMMARY: Support the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, directing and evaluating services and activities of the Nursing Department. Work harmoniously with other departments and disciplines to meet facility goals while ensuring a holistic and rehabilitative approach in assisting each Resident to attain maximal independence. Accept supervisory responsibility of the Nursing Department in the absence of the Director of Nursing. Establish and implement objectives and standards for the Nursing Department in compliance with the current requirements of regulatory agencies. Evaluate and monitor Resident rounds, observation of care rendered. Ensure sufficient and efficient staffing levels through training and the personnel process to meet the Resident needs daily on a shift-to-shift basis. Ascertain that accurate communications regarding significant changes in the status of Residents are expediently routed to designated physicians and family members/legal guardian. Establish effective rapport with facility staff, members of healthcare team, managerial support, Residents, family members and visitors. Implement standards of care, policies and procedures Work the floor when necessary Conduct monthly Consultant Compliance internal self-audits of Quality Indicators using designed audit tools. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Unencumbered, active RN license in the state of Arkansas. Advanced education and/or experience in nursing management/administration (one year experience recommended). Sincere desire to work with elders and others who have a limited capacity for self-care. Mental and physical capacity to perform the essential job functions with or without accommodations. Work with and provide care to individuals of a wide range of personality types and maturity levels. Demonstrate creative initiative and mature judgment in making competent decisions. Consistently maintain courteous, emphatic, and professional attitude. Maintain confidentiality of all activity, persons, and records. Communicate and comprehend orally and in writing to effectively receive and share information as necessary to perform job duties. Willing to address each Resident by his/her preferred name. The Director is responsible for program development, staff leadership, quality outcomes, and integration of behavioral health services within multidisciplinary care models. The Behavioral Health Director is responsible for the maintenance of the Horizon Health/Client hospital contractual relationship(s) and in coordination with the client, the overall administration of patient care for the Program. Included in these responsibilities are: 1) the development and maintenance of a high-quality treatment program; 2) the development and implementation of a comprehensive community relations program; 3) strategic planning, program administration, and development; and 4) He/she contributes to the program nursing and hospital through commitment to nursing goals and the supervision of clinical staff. How you make a difference The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in patient care by contributing to the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Working under the supervision of RN(s), the LPN provides direction and guidance in patient education and activities that align with their education and demonstrated competencies. Key Responsibilities Under RN supervision, assesses patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions in both the Health Care Unit and housing units, contributing to individualized treatment planning and consulting with RNs and staff as needed. Implements treatment programs directed by Health Care Practitioners, administering medications, including IV therapy (if certified), and performing diagnostic tests according to established protocols and procedures. Collaborates in controlled substance counts at the beginning of each shift, adhering to safety techniques, procedures, and standard precautions while responding to codes or health emergencies within standard guidelines. Assists in medical or minor surgical procedures, implements nutrition and therapeutic diet plans, and documents nursing encounters using SOAP charting, ensuring effective communication with nursing staff, physicians, and other relevant personnel. Attends mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to policies and procedures in providing high-quality patient care. Experience Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinic experience Licenses/Certifications Have and maintain current licensure as a Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurse within the state of employment. How you make a difference The Certified Nursing Assistant performs basic and specialized nursing care functions under the supervision of licensed nurses. They adhere to local and regulatory policies and procedures to ensure proper patient care. The Nursing Assistant collaborates with other healthcare team members and correctional officers to plan and implement patient care activities in a correctional setting. After a general orientation to medical-surgical and psychiatric patient care areas, they may also float between units to ensure adequate nursing staff for patient care areas. Key Responsibilities Provides basic nursing care to patients under the direction of a licensed nurse, including assistance with ADLs, vital sign measurement, and accurate documentation of patient data. Maintains professional behavior and prioritizes work flow to ensure completion of all assigned duties, while adhering to policies and procedures and promoting patient safety and confidentiality. Collaborates with other members of the health care team, participates in staff meetings and training sessions, and notifies the licensed nurse of any patient concerns or issues. Demonstrates basic knowledge of nursing procedures and proficiently uses medical supplies and equipment, while also ensuring their proper storage and cleaning. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising nurse, such as assisting with patient care in different units and participating in the orientation of new staff members. Qualifications & Requirements Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of training course for Nursing Assistants. Experience Work requires level of knowledge of basic patient care methods, procedures, and techniques. Ability to handle a variety of simple tasks that are routine in nature, while keeping work flowing in an orderly manner. Must have the ability to pass a background check and drug screen. Must be able to pass and maintain clearance for a Public Trust Position, if working with specific patients. Ability to express thoughts logically, in English, in both written and verbal form. Ability to use computers and the typical software such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and various database systems. Licenses/Certifications Current certification in the state of practice is required.
