Follows Standard Precautions and utilizes personal protective equipment in accordance with infection prevention guidelines. Responsible for maintaining the sterility, cleanliness, and readiness of procedure rooms, including setup, troubleshooting, and testing of endoscopy and GI procedural equipment. Assists in maintaining adequate inventories of supplies, medications, scopes, and procedural equipment. Participates in specimen collection, labeling, handling, and documentation according to established protocols. Supports quality improvement initiatives, patient safety goals, and regulatory compliance requirements. Escalates situations beyond capability or job responsibilities to appropriate personnel and reports errors or safety concerns promptly. May be cross-trained to provide pre-operative nursing care. Patients may require pre-procedure nursing care prior to room setup and procedural support. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required BSN degree preferred License/Certifications: Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of California required ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required Specialty certification required (or willing to obtain within one year of start date) Experience: A minimum of 3 years of acute care nursing experience required At least 1 year of PACU/ GI care experience preferred Cedars-Sinai is an EEO employer.
