Job Description Employment Duration: 6 months Number of Openings: 2 Various Locations: Oakland (East and West) and MobileCare Van (Contra Costa and Alameda) Under the supervision of the Manager, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) utilizes the nursing process to assess and identify the individual needs of patients through observation of disease symptoms, emotional state, laboratory reports, cultural and socio-economic background, and response to medical regimen and treatment. The LVN is responsible for providing nursing care to patients in the ambulatory setting and serves as an important member of the care team, working closely with the RN and physicians to deliver individualized nursing care based on each patient’s physiological and psychosocial developmental needs. The LVN is responsible for chart abstraction and documentation and consistently demonstrates a professional and courteous demeanor while complying with Medical Center House and Telephone Standards. Clinical responsibilities include medication and vaccine administration, laboratory result review and monitoring, treatments, procedures pertinent to pediatric and adult primary care, and patient education.
