Oncology Registered Nurse

Overview Alliance Cancer Specialists is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our oncology care team at our Glenn Mills/ Riddle Practices . In this role, you’ll provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative clinical environment as needed. You’ll work closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to support patients through every step of their cancer journey. Key Responsibilities: Deliver professional nursing care in accordance with national standards and oncology-specific guidelines Assess patient health status through interviews, physical exams, and review of medical history Administer medications, blood products, and therapies under physician supervision Perform venipuncture, access ports, and maintain central line devices Monitor lab results and collaborate with physicians on dose modifications and symptom management Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and available resources Provide psychosocial support and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with OSHA and infection control protocols Assist with scheduling, triaging patient calls, and managing medication refill requests Serve as a mentor to LPNs, MAs, and less experienced nurses Participate in professional development and stay current with oncology nursing best practices Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited nursing program Current RN license and registration with the State Board of Nursing Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience (oncology experience preferred) Physical & Work Environment Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for patient care tasks Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and medical preparations common to oncology clinics In-person interaction with patients, physicians, and clinical staff is essential Travel between our Glenn Mills and Riddle Practices is expected. The Family-centered rounds are conducted daily with an interdisciplinary care team including physicians, professional nursing services, child life specialists, social services, and nutrition support. All our pediatric units are secured with restricted access for staff, with visitors gaining entry via monitored access. All pediatric patients wear security tags to assure their safety. Our facilities include a teen room, a spacious playroom for younger patients, and a family waiting room. Our Pediatric unit and PIMU have 38-bed capacity. The Pediatric unit is in Kellemen building on South 7th and offers 26 beds. Experience Required 1 year of RN pediatrics experience is preferred. Essential Job Functions Plan, prioritize, and provide proficient, age-specific and developmentally/specialty appropriate nursing care by applying advanced specialty clinical nursing knowledge and skills and for ensuring the comfort and safety of patients/families Proficiently and consistently complete accurate, concise and legible documentation on medical records Observe and record signs, symptoms and behaviors including the physiological status of patients Presents proposed revision of interventions and desired outcomes Maintain patient's privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times Follow physician’s orders in the delivery of nursing care Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations Adhere to required infection control, isolation procedures and aseptic techniques in the delivery of patient care Perform admission, discharge and transfer procedures Participate in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care given Assemble equipment and supply for various diagnostic or treatment procedures in the specialty service area; performs or assists others with procedures or treatments. Handle care in accordance with legal, hospital/facility, departmental policies and procedures, and established standards of nursing care and practice, as defined by the Board of Nursing of that State Other Job Functions Perform all Quality Assessment activities assigned and document Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required Perform additional duties as assigned Basic Qualifications Associate’s Degree, required; BSN, preferred Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions, required 2+ years full-time RN experience in ER or other comparable experience, required Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, required; TNCC preferred Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication Pennsylvania Candidates : Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance), & Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) completed within the last 5 years, or must be obtained prior to start date.
