Job Description Nemours is seeking a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Midwife to join our Nemours Children’s Perinatal Program in Wilmington, DE. The Nemours Fetal Care Center and Advanced Delivery Unit are expanding the scope of service to include comprehensive prenatal, obstetrical and postpartum care for women whose unborn child has been diagnosed with a birth defect or complex medical condition that will require immediate multidisciplinary pediatric care in the neonatal period. In addition to currently available prenatal imaging to diagnose these conditions, we are also expanding invasive diagnostics and fetal intervention procedures. The NFCC-APP will work with the Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians, Obstetricians and the entire multidisciplinary team to provide full scope maternal care including prenatal care, postpartum care, inpatient care, assist in fetal procedures in the outpatient setting and in the operating room, and assessment of fetal well-being. In this role, the qualified NFCC-APP will play an integral role in the care and support of these patients throughout their high-risk pregnancy journey into the postpartum period. A Brief Overview The Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) provides intermediate level care to patients with congenital and acquired heart disease as well as those with primary rhythm abnormalities. Patients include medical and surgical cardiac patients with an age range typically spanning newborns to young adults. These patients may include those with non-invasive ventilation, such as CPAP/BiPaP and stable trachs. Some patients require continuous inotropic infusions to support their heart function while others require mechanical support such as ventricular assist devices (VADs). As a unit dedicated to inter-professional collaboration and education, we strive to provide care to our patients and families while on the continuum of their inpatient stay within the Cardiac Center. This is a part-time, rotating shift position. The Clinical Nurse practices at the level of an advanced beginner to expert practitioner of professional nursing in accordance with, and guided by the CHOP Nursing Professional Practice Model. Failure to meet and maintain nursing student requirements in lieu of certification will result in termination of the nursing assistant position. If the Nursing Assistant completes a nursing degree and obtains nursing licensure they may continue to practice within the scope of the Nursing Assistant job description until they are able to transition into a different position within the organization.
