Description Kindred Hospital Brea helps patients return to the lives they love. At our 48-bed hospital, our physician-led care teams provide critically ill patients with the specialized acute care and rehabilitation they need, for the time they need it - empowering them to take the next step in their recovery journey. We also offer a 4-bed ICU and three negative pressure rooms to accommodate particularly serious conditions. Job Summary Under direct supervision of Registered Nurse, provides nursing care within the scope of licensure for assigned patients according to established nursing standards and hospital policies and procedures. The LPN/LVN Charge Nurse manages a designated group of nursing employees on a nursing unit and assures smooth operations of the unit for a designated shift. Could encompass one or more units depending upon size and clinical programs. The scope of work may be modified by State specific rules under the Nurse Practice Act. Essential Functions Assesses, plans, coordinates and evaluates patients’ care along with members of the interdisciplinary team. Documents the patient’s condition and nursing needs accurately and in a timely manner in the patient’s EHR. Your Role on the Team Position Summary The clinical nurse collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients, ensuring the coordination of care between other disciplines and support staff. Performs professional nursing duties that incorporate the psychomotor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other to assess, plan, intervene and advocate for the patient on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all patients within the PACU scope of services. The Registered Nurse also coordinates the post-operative care of the patient with the surgeon and anesthesiologist, directs and guides other personnel while maintaining standards of care in the PACU.
