The Neuro Pre/Post Unit is a newly established unit in the state-of-the-art Neuro Building, designed to support patients through every stage of the surgical experience. This 36-bed unit brings together Pre-Op and Post-Anesthesia Care (PACU) into one cohesive, flexible environment, where nurses are cross-trained to care for patients both before and after surgery. Focused exclusively on neurology patients, the team provides a seamless, specialized care journey from initial surgical preparation through immediate recovery within a space built specifically to advance neuro care. Caring for a diverse adult neurology population, the unit manages a full spectrum of surgical needs, from same-day procedures to high-acuity post-operative recovery. Nurses are equipped with critical care competencies to support complex cases, while pediatric neurology patients are cared for in collaboration with specialized pediatric nurses. Close partnership with the Operating Room and PACU teams ensures a highly coordinated, team-based approach, supported by strong leadership and shared governance. This forward-thinking unit offers a unique opportunity to be part of a collaborative team dedicated to delivering expert neuro care across the entire perioperative experience. A caregiver in this role will work 9:00am to 9:30pm with a required call rotation. On call is: 1 24 hour call on a Saturday or Sunday, 2 weeknights (11pm-7am), and 3 lates per 6 week schedule. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide direct nursing care. Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans. Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions. Administer prescribed medications and treatments. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. Educate patients and their families.
