Adheres to all medical center policies and procedures and bylaws of the medical staff. Participates in department performance improvement initiatives, collects and aggregates data as needed, works with leadership to develop a plan of correction Fosters and promotes teamwork with other staff members of the service as well as providers from other agencies involved with the patient’s care. Communicates pertinent information to the supervisor of the service, collaborating physician, treatment team and other community providers as necessary and in adherence to all standards of privacy and confidentiality. Performs comprehensive physical, psychosocial, and mental examinations, including developmental and functional status determination. Interprets lab values with order to correct abnormalities. Evaluates consultations and make concise case presentations to physicians, differentiating normal from abnormal findings, and suggest differential and presumptive diagnosis. Develops a prioritized comprehensive problem list. Documents in the patient’s record all pertinent patient interactions and care. Provides discharge instructions with prescriptions given and follow-up visits arranged. Participates in interdisciplinary quality improvement efforts to improve clinical practice.
