Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, must be available to support one evening shift per week as needed. Location(s): Must be able to support all three care centers- Horsham, Abington & Langhorne Clinical Supervisor, CMA The Clinical Supervisor, CMA provides leadership and oversight for the daily clinical operations. This involves supervising clinical staff, ensuring quality patient care, coordinating scheduling, maintaining compliance, and supporting patient care. Essential Functions Greet and acknowledge patients in a professional and courteous manner. Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure they are comfortable. Prepare patients for examinations, complete comprehensive clinical intake. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records. Perform and document accurate blood pressure, height and weight, and patient temperature. Demonstrate appropriate chaperone technique and documentation. Assist with patient examinations and office-based procedures (Routine procedures performed during the regular course of the day including but not limited to colposcopy, IUD insertions, and endometrial biopsies). Administer medications and injections as ordered by providers. Collect and prepare laboratory specimens. Perform CLIA waived tests per Axia and Care Center Protocols. Perform blood draws Computerized physician order entry (CPOE) – Enter and send medication and test orders per provider instructions. Clean, disinfect, and sterilize medical instruments and ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked. Provide information regarding procedures, medications, and follow-up care. Respond to patient inquiries both in person and over the phone. Assist with scheduling appointments and follow-up visits. Understand how to appropriately perform Nonstress Test (NST) Answer patient calls, address inquiries, relay messages to providers, and provide instructions or follow-up information as directed by providers. Ensure timely and accurate communication of patient needs and concerns. Manage medical supply inventory by monitoring and maintaining stock levels of medical supplies, place orders as needed and ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to support clinical operations and avoid shortages. Upon successful completion of competency skills training, assist in office-based surgical procedures (Anything historically performed in an Operating Room and/or requiring moderate sedation or higher including but not limited to LEEP, operative hysteroscopy, ablations, and D&Cs with or without suction) by preparing the procedure room, ensuing the availability of necessary equipment, providing support to healthcare providers during the surgeries, and post-surgical processes including disinfection. Ensure patient safety within the clinical setting. Work collaboratively with physicians, providers, nurses, and other staff to ensure efficient practice operations. Safely and efficiently assist patients with mobility, including transferring them between examination rooms and treatment areas. Ensures compliance with all Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) and policies (including HIPAA & OSHA). Regularly monitor and implement quality control measures to maintain a safe and compliant working environment. Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Adhere to practice policies, procedures, and protocols. Lead by example in embodying the organization's mission, vision, and values. Mentor and guide junior staff in ethical practices and professional behavior. Patients usually cared for in this area include those with trauma tic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, rib fractures and lung injuries, as well as diverse orthopedic injuries requiring frequent monitoring and care. Patients may also be transferred to the TSDU from the Trauma /Surgical ICU when their clinical condition has improved but close monitoring or ventilator support is still required . The unit is staffed with registered nurses, critical care technicians, trauma surgery nurse practitioners and resident physicians. Staff also work closely with respiratory therapy and specialized surgical groups such as orthopedics and neurosurgery. Nurses and critical care technicians working in this area receive education specific to the care of the trauma patient. Experience Required A minimum of one year or more of RN acute care experience in an inpatient setting is preferred Education Requirements Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing. Summary: The Resource Pool Resource Pool RN position is a unique position in that you float to all units in the hospital and staff these units based on the needs in the hospital. This position is an important part of the healthcare team and keeps the hospital properly staffed. Responsibilities: · The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague is an RN that practices as a full partner on the health care team and consistently demonstrates safe practice within the organizational professional practice model. · The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague possesses the knowledge, skills and the attitude to effectively meet standards for competent professional nursing practice as specified in the Clinical Nurse 2 position description addendum. · The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague exhibits UPHS organizational behavioral competencies which reflect its mission and are embedded in the professional practice competency domains. · The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague independently provides patient care through the application of the nursing process and accepts accountability for the nursing care of assigned patients. Assigned patients may range in age from infancy to the elderly. · The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague demonstrates within the competency domains of Continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence Based Practice and Research, Leadership, Person and Family Centered Care, Professionalism, Safety, Technology/Informatics, and Teamwork (Definitions listed below). · The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague works closely with the interprofessional health care team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum. The nurse focuses on expanding the knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care based on physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age-appropriate considerations of assigned patients. · The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague seeks feedback in assuming leadership roles and provides feedback for improved clinical practice. The nurse demonstrates how nursing practice impacts the organizational vision, mission, and goals and the care delivery system. The nurse complies with all regulations and standards of regulatory and accrediting bodies. · Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, polices, and procedures · Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization Credentials: · The candidate must have 3 or more years’ experience as a critical care RN in the United States (Required) · The qualified candidate must have a BSN from an accredited school of nursing (Required) · Pennsylvania RN licensure (Required) · BLS/CPR as a healthcare provider from the American Heart Association (Required) · ACLS and telemetry experience is preferred We believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
