Often involves the teaching of what Insulin is and the delivery of the Insulin and also other oral agents they may be prescribed. Survival skills are taught to the patient and the patients are instructed to seek out an outpatient program for additional teaching. Additional Information About the Role Our High-Risk Cardiology unit is vital to the flow of patients being admitted from the ED, CCU, admitting, procedural areas, other units within the hospital, and even outside hospitals. Our 32-bed unit is covered by Hospitalist Attendings with a cardiology consult. Together, they collaborate closely to care for a variety of cardiac illness including CAD, HTN, Chest Pain, Pacemaker/ICD implants and malfunctions, Arrhythmias, Heart Failure, Valve Disease, and Pulmonary Hypertension.
