Implements, monitors and adjusts patients physiologic condition as appropriate for type of anesthesia and specific patients needs. Recognizes abnormal patient response to anesthesia and adjunct medications; takes appropriate action. Demonstrates ability to work in a stressful environment by prioritizing and implementing corrective action based on the situation. Provides observation, monitoring and resuscitation of patients in route to recovery room or to special care unit according to protocol. Provides concise comprehensive anesthesia report to recovery room or unit nurse according to protocol. Transfers the responsibility for care of the patient to other qualified providers post-operatively to assure continuity of care and patient safety. Supports operating room procedures. Keeps patient informed of their medical condition and the course of treatment being prescribed. Functions independently in executing the day to day operational and administrative management duties / responsibilities in the absence of the Chief CRNA.
