Position Highlights: Position: Registered Nurse - Transition to Practice - Emergency Department - Night Location: Edward Hospital, Naperville, IL Hours: Full time – 36 hours per week, night shift (7p-7a) Transition Program Schedule: Classroom education is scheduled during day shift hours What you will do: Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care in accordance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. Use critical thinking and clinical judgment to assess patients, recognize changes in condition, and prioritize care. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care. Monitor patient progress and accurately document assessments, interventions, and relevant clinical observations. Respond effectively to changing patient needs in a fast-paced environment. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care. Appropriately delegate tasks while maintaining accountability for patient outcomes. Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment focused on patient safety, quality, and exceptional care. What you will need: License: Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required. Education: Associate degree or higher in Nursing; If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date. Certification: CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required. The following certifications may be completed during the Transition Program and are required within three months of starting the position: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) Experience: One year of acute care nursing experience is required; candidates with 6-9 months of ED specific experience interested in growing within our program are encouraged to apply.
