Summary The Education Quality Coordinator (EQC) is an experienced nurse who coordinates and participates in the provision of education and nursing quality improvement. The EQC evaluates, monitors, and improves the quality of nursing care at Rush University Medical Center. The EQC plans, implements, and evaluates educational activities to promote high standards of nursing practice throughout the Division of Nursing. The EQC reports to the Director and has accountability to the clinical Nursing Directors for department specific activities. The EQC is a leader and a role model exemplifying the Rush mission, vision, and values while acting in accordance with Rush University Medical Center policies and procedures. Other Information Required Job Qualifications: Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure. Graduate degree in nursing or related field. Professional nursing certification within 36 months of hire. Demonstrated progressive, proficient leadership skills. Demonstrated clinical expertise. A high level of analytical ability. Responsibilities Coordinates and leads formal and informal educational programs based on nursing evidence for staff. Initiates and/or participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Standards of Care and Standards of Practice. Leads activities that evaluate current practice and stimulate changes in nursing practice. Uses the results of quality monitoring data and other evidence/based content to plan and conduct annual competency verification activities that assure compliance with Rush, The Joint Commission, Illinois Department of Public Health and professional association standards. Serves as a role model to nursing staff by demonstrating skilled interpersonal communication while involved in programs at Rush. Fosters and continuously improves professional relationships within an interdisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes. Analyzes and interprets clinical data, benchmark comparison data and other quality monitoring data. Identifies issues through interpretation of quality data and assists in the coordination of quality improvement activities for assigned departments as negotiated with the Nursing Directors. Mentors staff in the development and application of critical thinking in order to manage complex patients, care for changing patient conditions and understand quality improvement data/activities. Reviews specific patient cases to determine compliance with standards for nursing practice and reports findings to unit managers, unit advisory committee, department advisory committee, and appropriate PNS standing committees. Develops, implements, and evaluates programs at the division-wide and the department level. Identifies educational needs of nursing staff in order to develop, implement and evaluate continued education programs, product in-services, and other staff development activities Coordinates the necessary tools, information, resources, and personnel for special programs and projects at Rush. Achieves certification as a Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor within one year of hire and maintains this certification. Serves and leads as an expert in quality improvement process, tools and methodologies. Assumes a leadership role in facilitating division-wide innovations. Serves on Medical Center, Division of Nursing, and Professional Nursing Staff process improvement committees as designated. Senior Caregiver for Overnights Elmhurst

We currently have two overnight shifts available. These are awake, non-sleeping shifts lasting 10–12 hours. During the shift, the caregiver must remain alert and available to assist the client as needed throughout the night. Responsibilities include helping with transfers between the bed and wheelchair or walker, providing restroom assistance, and assisting with incontinence care, including changing the client if they become wet or soiled. Pay Range: $40.05 - $61.28 per hour Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. Summary The RN 2 is a competent nurse who has mastered technical skills. The RN 2 identifies patterns of patient responses and can use past experiences to implement solutions for current situations. The RN 2 continues to consult with other members of the health care team when the need for assistance is identified. The RN 2 exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. Other Information Qualifications Knowledge: Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure required. Maintain current BLS certification. Earned nursing degree at the baccalaureate level or higher (except RN1s hired and already working at Rush University Medical Center before October, 2012). All transfers from other Rush entities must have an earned nursing degree at the baccalaureate level or higher prior to transfer into Rush University Medical Center or Rush University Medical Group. May accept Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) effective 1/9/23 up until approved number of ADN hires by Chief Nursing Officer is met with the following stipulations: Baccalaureate degree must be earned within timeframe outlined in the ADN Condition of Employment. ii. All Conditions of Employment as outline in Offer Letter must be met. Failure to do so will result in termination. Skills Analytical ability is required. Communication skills are required in order to lead and teach. Ability to interact effectively with others in difficult situations. Abilities Work requires the ability to walk throughout the Medical Center and to be standing or walking most of the designated shift. Work requires lifting or carrying objects 35-40lbs. and lifting and positioning patients, some of whom may exceed 300 lbs. The ability to check documents for errors, use a keyboard to enter or retrieve data, and closely examine specimens, images or reports is required. Work conditions include performing procedures where carelessness could result in injury or illness and/or contact with potentially infectious materials and/or strong chemical agents. Responsibilities Participates in the collection of data to support unit based quality initiatives, research and evidence based activities. Utilizes system wide resources to support decision making and action. Recognizes patterns/groupings of problems in a specific patient population that require investigation and initiates actions to address. Communicates current evidence-based information with peers. Establishes a caring, therapeutic relationship with patients and families through effective communication, acknowledgement of patient/family perceptions of health and illness and mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes. Collaborates consistently and effectively with other disciplines and services to meet the needs of patients/families. Utilizes competent assessment skills to holistically evaluate the physical and psychosocial needs of patients and families. Demonstrates the ability to prioritize care for complex patients based on knowledge acquired from previous clinical experiences. Recognizes changes in patient status and consistently responds effectively. Demonstrates consistent safe and effective use of medical devices in the delivery of patient care. Demonstrates accountability for implementing policies related to safe and effective administration of medications. Assesses patient safety needs consistently and implements appropriate strategies (fall precautions, infection control, suicide risk patient identification) to minimize risk. Individualizes teaching plans based on a thorough assessment to meet the learning needs of patients and families. Demonstrates the ability to provide education to staff and students on the unit. Demonstrates beginning leadership skills related to patient care. Delegates effectively and consistently to optimize patient outcomes.
