In this role, the successful candidate The Registered Professional Staff Nurse (RN) assumes responsibility for nursing care and outcomes for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via the nursing process in collaboration with other members of the health team. Additional Position Specific Responsibilities: -Conducts infection surveillance to identify trends, transmission risks, and potential outbreaks. -Provides guidance on isolation precautions, PPE use, and infection prevention practices to support safe patient placement and throughput. -Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support compliance with infection prevention standards, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement efforts. -Identifies infection prevention risks, escalates urgent concerns to IPC leadership, and provides education and consultation to support best practices. -Participates in the environment of care, patient safety, and regulatory readiness rounds as assigned. Description The Assistant Nurse Manager for General Medicine Unit is a Registered Professional Nurse with broad knowledge and skills who assumes the role of a clinical leader in the daily functioning of the unit and oversight of quality patient care delivery, in conjunction with, or in the absence of, the Nurse Manager. Responsibilities Patient Care 1. Leads nursing practice using the tenets of the Professional Practice Model of Relationship Centered Care and the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing for the promotion of the patient experience. 2.
