Performs variety of patient care, technical, and administrative duties to assist practitioners and other members of health care team in providing high quality patient care through health care system. The Medical Assistant participates as a team member in the overall functioning of the clinic. The Medical Assistant is responsible for the flow of the patients for assigned providers (as applicable) each day. They perform duties and procedures as described in the Primary Responsibilities section. This position will be Per Diem, with shifts available Monday-Friday. Shift start times could vary depending on clinic needs, between 7:30am and 9am. This position will be located at the Overlake Clinic in Bellevue, WA. Responsibilities Rooms patients and families to exam/procedure area Documents vital signs and other patient information per clinic policy Assists with procedures as directed Conducts clerical tasks, patient transport, cleaning and restocking of exam rooms and other requests to maintain clinic flow Recognizes symptoms of common medical illnesses, abnormal vs., and new/existing pain and immediately escalates to RN and/or provider Preforms Blood Draws as directed Customer Service Acts as a liaison between patients/families and health care providers. Qualifications Required: Completion of a medical assistant program offered by a school accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP); or Military training or experience may also satisfy the training and experience requirement Certified Medical Assistant in the State of Washington and must be familiar with the State's conduct and standards of practice. Interim Certified Medical Assistant in the State of Washington and must be familiar with the state’s conduct and standards of practice. Current Surgical Technologist Registration in the State of Washington within 30 days of hire as applicable, depending on location Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course, such as by the American Red Cross) and renewal required every two years Proficient in email and word processing systems Strong interpersonal and customer services skills Ability to work in a fast paced, complex healthcare environment Ability to multitask, prioritize and problem solve Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in a clear and concise manner Ability to follow direction and guidance Ability to recognize limitations and seek help Ability to identify learning needs and plan learning opportunities The hourly pay range for this position is from $34.23 to $48.74, which includes the per diem differential, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Job Description Harborview Medical Center APP - Inpatient General Surgery (ARNP; Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C, Physician Assistant). This opening is for full time, 100% FTE, day shift, with weekend and holidays, no call. Potential for 2-3 nights/month. The APP provides clinical expertise to patients and their families, is a resource person for health care providers, and participates in research and teaching programs. Work is performed in the Inpatient Care Units and Emergency Department 7 days a week with general independence and decision-making responsibility under the general guidance of the attending physicians, chief resident and department lead APP. Guidelines include general policy procedures and practice guidelines established by the department and Harborview Medical Center, as well as appropriate professional and technical manuals.
