Overview Under medical or licensed nursing supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), is a member of the health care team who assists in the delivery of total patient care. Cert Nurse Assistant provides nursing care to residents who are physically ill, disabled, geriatric, or assist physician or nurse with treatments of residents; motivate and assist patients in developing and utilizing their maximum potential for self-care. Responsibilities POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES (other duties may be assigned) Provides routine care as outlined in the CNA skills checklist. Provides physical support to assist residents in performing daily activities, including rising out of bed, bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, walking or exercising, social actions or rehabilitation programs; turns or re-positions bedridden, records vital signs, height and weight; measures and record dietary intake and urinary or fecal output; collects specimens, observes residents to detect symptoms that may require medical attention; assist nurse; transport residents to appointment unit/operation room or other areas using wheelchair/stretchers or movable beds; cleans and sanitizers residents clothing, rooms, bathrooms, or other residents area; position or hold residents for procedure; performance immediate and temporary intervention in emergency situation; distributes linens and clothing; performs other tasks as required and defined by California Code of Regulation, tittle 22, Division 5, Chapter 2.5, Article Promptly reports to Team Leader any pertinent observation or factors affecting delivery of routine patient care including family complaints and unusual incidences. Assists in preparation of patients’ rooms and beds for admission, transfers or discharges. Accompanies patients as needed. Prepares patients for meals, sets up patient trays, assists in feeding patients as necessary, positions patients to avoid choking and ease in eating, and distributes water and other nourishments according to patient’s needs, regularly providing patients with fresh water. Accurately estimates percentages of meals consumed. Knows which patients are NPO or on restricted diets. Makes rounds on assigned patients regularly and as needed. Answers patient call lights immediately (whether assigned patient or not), and anticipates patient’s needs. Provides patient activity and comfort per mobility protocol.Ensures that all personal articles are secured on admission and returned to the patient upon discharge. Provides education regarding correct storage of valuables, eyeglasses, and dentures; use of bed control, nurse call light system, and location of bathroom. Evidence of ability to manage time effectively and set priorities while maintaining flexibility. Provides for patient privacy at all times, closes curtain and/or room for all procedures. Maintains confidentiality of patients & organization information per HIPAA mandate. Consistently demonstrates awareness of patient rights. Willing to perform or offers to perform assignments/tasks/errands as requested by the Nurse Manager. Willingly accepts re-assignment to other units as required. Assist with orientation of new personnel to the unit as assigned. Completes work left from the previous shift and reports all incomplete assignments to ensure continuity of care. Cooperates and offers assistance to other staff in order to complete all work assignments. Reports off duty to Team Leader before leaving the unit at any time; does not leave the unit at the end of the shift unless released by the Team Leader/charge nurse/lead nurse/ Nurse Manager. Demonstrates a reliable and dependable ability to follow-through with designated responsibilities in the collecting, labeling and transporting of specimens. Abides by the facility's Code of Conduct and HIPAA compliance. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS/JOB REQUIREMENTS: TRAINING/EXPERIENCE One year Long Term Care experience preferred. EDUCATION Graduation from High School or equivalent. Position Details: We are seeking a dedicated Infusion Registered Nurse to join our center in Walnut Creeak . Full-Time, 5 days, 8am to 4pm, 40 hours total. What We Offer: Competitive hourly pay between $54- $58 , with variations based on experience and expertise. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing. Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Minimum of 3 years of recent clinical RN experience in ICU, ER, or similar high-acuity settings. Infusion experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Valid RN License. Current American Heart Association BLS or ACLS/PALS certification. Skills and Abilities: Proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Computer literacy, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills for team collaboration and patient interaction. Recent IV experience. Essential Functions: Welcome patients and escort them to their private infusion rooms. Educate patients about their treatments and address any concerns about adverse reactions. Administer prescribed medications and establish IV access, including central lines. Monitor and document patients' conditions and responses to treatments. Ensure accurate and timely EMR documentation. Maintain the flow of patient care and manage emergency situations calmly and effectively. Keep infusion rooms clean and well-stocked. Answer phone calls as needed, adhering to OSHA and HIPAA guidelines. Job Summary: Selects and administers intravenous, spinal and other anesthetics prior to and during surgical or medical procedures, as a member of the anesthesia care team and in accordance with Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures. Monitors patient reactions and vital signs during and after anesthesia and takes remedial action when warranted. Submits postoperative report on patient condition, and maintains records of anesthetics administered. Performs procedures outside of the OR, in accordance with KP policies and procedures, established competency, and MD order. Essential Responsibilities: Conducts and/or reviews anesthetic evaluation of patients prior to surgical proceedings, deliveries or other pertinent medical procedures in hospital setting; consults with anesthesiologists and/or surgeons. Reviews patients charts, including permits, pre-operative medications, lab work, and any other significant variations, such as hearing aids, dentures, contact lenses, or other prostheses, in accordance with KPs policies and procedures and the departmental policy. Evaluates patients to identify apparent difficulties with airway control, etc. Ensures that all pre-anesthesia evaluations are documented thoroughly according to policies and standards. Explains tests, procedures and disease processes to patients and their family as indicated; explains the major anesthetic risks to patients as requested and documents that the risks are explained to patients. Develops the care regimen of assigned patients; reviews the care regimen with the supervising physician and gains concurrence; implements the anesthesia plan; starts IV solution, administers selected anesthetic, choice of anesthetic consistent with patient safety, surgical need, possible post operative complications, and patients history and conditions. and evaluates and manages the patient, according to departmental policy. Participates with post anesthesia care unit personnel in a patient safety oriented interface when patients are transferred from the surgery suite. Monitors patients vital signs, such as blood pressure and observes any significant physical changes; informs anesthesiologist and/or surgeon of patients condition and takes any necessary remedial action such as infant resuscitation when necessary. Mixes solutions to required concentrations, such as pentothal, succinylcholine, vaso-active drugs etc. Keeps current accurate and complete record of procedures performed and patients conditions immediately prior to the administration of anesthesia according to established standards. Performs procedures done outside of OR, such as intubation, arterial line placement, etc., in accordance with policies and procedures, competencies, and physician order. Charts details of procedures done on progress notes. Kaiser Permanente conducts compensation reviews of positions on a routine basis.
