Facilitates referrals for outpatient services and other community resources. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Perform initial nursing screening and appropriate clinical assessment on all persons who present for an evaluation. Recognizes signs and symptoms of chemical dependency disorders and applies/utilizes appropriate treatment interventions. Recognizes signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and applies/utilizes appropriate treatment interventions. Assess, direct and intervene in crisis situations. Administer medications as ordered by the physician should the need occur. Perform the nurse-to-nurse screen for all patients transferred in or out of the Admissions Department. Perform and document all pre-certifications on all admissions. Facilitate referrals to outpatient treatment services. Assume personal responsibility for excellent customer service. Respond to telephone and face-to-face inquiries from persons seeking behavioral health services. Document calls and related information on Intake form and enters data into computer system.
