Job Description: Position Summary: The primary role of the Patient Care Associate (PCA), is to protect, sustain, and nurture the patients that live at the Center. They provide assistance with activities of daily living, care of the patient’s environment, and meet other needs as required. The goal of the work of the Patient Care Associate, is to provide assistance that promotes a high quality of life for the patients. The Patient Care Associate, works as a member of a team that seeks to achieve a home like setting while maintaining excellence in all areas of care. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 0 - Under the general direction of The Senior Director of Inpatient and Emergency Services, the Nursing Supervisor serves as the onsite administrator for the hospital for a defined shift. The Nursing Supervisor understands and demonstrates knowledge of the healthcare environment, communication and relationship management, business skills and principals, professionalism, and leadership. The Nursing Supervisor works closely with emergency, inpatient, and operational leadership to act as an administrative liaison to internal hospital departments and external community resources. Through the assessment of clinical indicators and use of critical thinking, the Nursing Supervisor collaborates with RN and physician/LIP teams to effectively allocate clinical resources, coordinate patient placement, and manage hospital operations. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 0 - An experienced Registered Nurse, who in addition to providing direct patient care as needed is accountable for facilitating an interdisciplinary approach to patient care, patient flow, staffing, resource utilization, and problem solving on a given shift. The Nursing Supervisor functions under the direction of the Sr. Director in collaboration with the Nurse Managers to create an environment conducive to maintaining established standards of practice.
