Job Overview Fairview is looking for a Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Woodwind’s Hospital in Woodbury, MN. This position is 0.75 FTE ( 60 hours per two weeks), 12 hour shifts on the Night shift with an every third weekend rotation. Woodwinds Health Campus opened its 86-bed hospital in August 2000. About this Unit: 18 bed Telemetry and ICU 18 years old and up patients Average length of stay average 3-4 days. Patient population: vents, codes, vent failures, septics, shock, and unstable post surgicals The Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting the professional nurse/caregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and/or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and the reordering and stocking of supplies. The Nursing Assistant does not work autonomously but works under the direction of a professional nurse. The Nursing Assistant may be given a patient care assignment based on unit needs and the discretion of the manager/charge nurse. Responsibilities Provides basic patient care by performing routine duties to include: Partners with patient care giver in care/decision making. Personal grooming, bathing, toileting, Feeding, Skin care needs (clean and sterile dressing changes), applying ointments/creams, Oral hygiene, Specimen collection/testing, Position/ambulating, Changing linens, Promptly answers call lights. Assists nurse in monitoring patient condition. Accurately takes and records weights, input/output, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rates, respiration, oxygen saturation. Places patient on/off monitors or equipment. Reports unusual findings to the RN in a timely manner. Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharge of patients. Orients patient/family to environment. Assures the patient’s belongings are accounted for, documented upon admission, transfer and discharge. Required: License/Certification/Registration Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants much be able to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program. And one of the following: Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting.
