Selects, obtains and administers the anesthetic plan of care, including induction, maintenance and emergence phases of anesthesia. Administer various types of anesthesia, including inhalation, intravenous, spinal, epidural, and peripheral nerve blocks. All anesthesia is administered under the medical direction of staff anesthesiologists. Recognizes alterations in physiologic responses to the surgical procedure and/or the anesthetic, takes appropriate action and notifies the responsible physician as indicated Transfer the patient to the appropriate postoperative area and assist in the postoperative care. Trauma and Emergency General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Position Overview: The Trauma and Emergency General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers direct patient care consistent with the APP’s education, experience, and certification, in collaboration with the attending Trauma and Emergency General Surgery physicians. This includes the diagnosis, management, and referral of health care issues specific to Trauma and Emergency General Surgery (EGS). Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Trauma/EGS attending physicians, general surgery residents, and APPs to complete daily rounds on the trauma and surgical floors and in the intensive care unit (ICU). Summary Educates patients about their fertility options. Works with physicians to perform physical examinations, ultrasounds, and scans. Collects and sends blood samples for testing. Communicate with patients, conduct interviews, and gathers medical histories. Delivers direct patient care consistently with the advanced practice registered nurse’s education, experience and certification, in collaboration with a physician, which includes diagnosis, management and/or referral of health care issues. Promotes consumer, family, and community health through preventative health care actions and through patient advocacy. The advanced practice registered nurse may also manage complex illnesses and/or deliver specialty care. Required Qualifications Completion of an accredited Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner program (other licensures accepted when paired with at least one year of OB/GYN experience). Participate in one fire drill monthly with appropriate documentation. 22. Secure the building as appropriate for evening hours. 23. Regular, punctual attendance required. 24. Perform other duties as directed.
