Job Description Designs, implements, facilitates, and evaluates multi-disciplinary simulation-based education that promotes clinical excellence, patient safety, team collaboration, and evidence-based practice across Benioff Children’s Hospitals Oakland Sites. Collaborates with clinical leaders, educators, the Program Manager, and the Medical Director of Simulation to assess learning needs, develop curriculum, facilitate simulation and structured debriefing, and evaluate learner outcomes. Supports integration of simulation into the clinical setting with innovative techniques. The Clinical Nurse Simulation Educator applies advanced knowledge of simulation-based education to design, implement, facilitate, and evaluate multidisciplinary team training programs that strengthen clinical performance, teamwork, communication, and patient safety across pediatric care settings. This role partners with clinical leaders and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to identify educational needs, develop and facilitate simulation-based learning experiences, lead structured debriefings, and evaluate program outcomes to improve clinical practice and systems of care. The Clinical Nurse Simulation Educator collaborates with the Program Manager, Medical Director of Simulation, and other key stakeholders to support the implementation, evaluation, continuous improvement, and growth of the simulation-based team training program. The Clinical Nurse Simulation Educator serves as an instructor and mentor for Simulation Clinical Facilitators and contributes to the ongoing development of simulation instructors and implementation of educational best practices. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience Knowledge of pertinent regulatory and accrediting agency standards, educational program design, training for impact methodology, performance improvement methodology, facilitative leadership methodology, and simulation technology. Experience in design, development, implementation, and evaluation of interdisciplinary simulation (including standardized patients) programs using adult learning principles Detail-oriented, with proven organizational skills to effectively codify programs/policies, manage time, prioritize tasks, and see projects through to completion on deadline. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated teamwork leadership experience, excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Experience working in a clinical setting with physicians, clinical staff and learners. Knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, physiology and clinical application. Registered Nurse - Pediatric Infectious Diseases (BCH-Oakland)

Job Description The Pediatric Infectious Diseases Nurse supports care coordination and clinic visits for pediatric patients with a variety of bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections. This includes challenging conditions like MRSA, osteomyelitis, fevers, bone marrow transplants and organ transplants, HIV, and tuberculosis. S/he works autonomously, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate patient care. S/he uses a high level of clinical knowledge to fulfill patient needs, ensures efficient patient care, and provides patient education when necessary. The Clinic Nurse acts a patient advocate and as a liaison between insurers, inpatient/outpatient services, patients/families and all other necessary healthcare services to manage and facilitate efficient and timely coordination of care. The Pediatric Infectious Diseases Clinic Nurse is responsible for coordinating outpatient services and needs a panel of pediatric patients and providers in the ambulatory setting. His/her responsibilities include both in-clinic procedures, managing the outpatient infectious diseases clinic flow, as well as assisting with insurance authorization and prior medication authorizations, contacting home health companies, assuring DME and other home supplies are adequate, assisting with medication refill requests, patient teaching and assisting in the overall coordination of timely patient care. This position is 100% in-person onsite. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Two or more years of recent pediatric medical/surgical nursing experience Minimum one year of recent experience working in an out-patient/ambulatory setting Minimum one year of recent pediatric clinical experience providing nursing care for patients with infectious diseases and immunologic disorders Experience with maintenance of central lines (i.e.PICCs) and drawing labs This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
