Medical services are offered to all types of patient populations requiring cardiac monitoring, including renal, endocrine, pulmonary, oncologic, general medicine and geriatric. Other services provided within this unit include titration of multiple intravenous medications and conscious sedation for cardioversions. In addition, a select group of nurses complete special training to provide ultrafiltration for decompensated heart failure patients and left ventricular assist device (LVAD). All nurses are ACLS certified and have completed an EKG interpretation course. This is an excellent unit for nurses interested in transitioning to an ICU setting.

Summary Of Position The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for general clinical and procedural patient care under the direction and supervision of the center’s providers and practice manager. Nature and Scope The Licensed Practical Nurse works under the direct supervision of the practice providers. A patient base of 1,000 to 3,000 patients is served and 20-50 patients are seen each day; resulting referrals, correspondence, reports, and phone calls will be addressed by the LPN. Qualifications Successful completion of an accredited practical nursing and pharmacology program. Maintains current nursing licensure in the State of Ohio with completion of continuing education requirements. Prior experience in a hospital or ambulatory health care facility preferred. Successfully learn and implement related department tasks and be of assistance to management and physicians. Self-motivated to achieve the highest patient care and customer service standards. CPR certified or obtained within the first 3 months of employment
