Reports suspected abandonment, abuse, financial exploitation, or neglect of a person in violation of the department of social and health services and the proper law enforcement agency. Reports must be submitted immediately when the reporting person has reasonable cause to believe that abandonment, abuse, financial exploitation, or neglect of a vulnerable adult has occurred. 6. Teaches the patient and family/caregiver self-care techniques as appropriate. Provides medication, diet and other instructions as ordered by the physician and recognizes and utilizes opportunities for health counseling with patients and families/caregivers. Works in concert with the interdisciplinary group. 7. Provides and maintains a safe environment for the patient. 8. Assists the patient and family/caregiver and other team members in providing continuity of care. 9. Responsibilities Include: Maintains appropriate nursing service objectives, goals, and standards of nursing practices consistent with licensure requirements and the Nurse Practice Act. Evaluates staffing pattern needed to meet the needs of the residents in conjunction with the Director of Nursing. Administers medication/treatments as prescribed. Receive, transcribe, and implement physician’s orders. Implements and evaluates care plans. Identifies/secures equipment supplies Directs/oversees subordinates. Participates in duty assignments. Organizes/coordinates subordinates, job tasks, and time allotments. Oversees/monitors function and activities of subordinate staff. Evaluate staff performance and institutes appropriate action discipline/training. Monitor’s infection control compliance. Investigates/documents accidents/incidents.
