The ED RN provides direct patient care, collaborates with the healthcare team, and plays a critical role in managing patient care from triage to discharge. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to make quick decisions, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. The RN / GN reports directly to Charge Nurse/Manager. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: a.) Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current, unrestricted RN license in MO. Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications, and trauma advanced certifications (TNCC, ATCN) are required. c.) Pediatric Course (ENPC) certifications is preferred. Work Experience: 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in an emergency department or critical care setting is desired. 4. Skills: a.) Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities, with the capacity to perform under pressure. b.) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care. c.) Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technologies. RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES: Patient Assessment & Triage: a.) Conduct rapid, thorough assessments of patients upon arrival in the Emergency Department, prioritizing care based on the severity of illness or injury. b.) Perform initial triage, recognizing life-threatening conditions and initiating appropriate interventions. c.) Continuously monitor and reassess patients’ conditions, adjusting care plans as necessary. 2. Direct Patient Care: Provide direct nursing care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and delivering interventions according to established protocols and orders. b.) Implement evidence-based practices to manage a wide range of emergency situations, from minor injuries to critical, life-threatening conditions. c.) Assist with and perform emergency procedures, such as wound care, IV insertion, intubation, and CPR. 3. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear explanations of care, procedures, and discharge instructions. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, sharing observations and insights that contribute to patient care decisions. 4. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely documentation of all patient care activities in the electronic health record (EHR). Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including infection control and patient safety protocols. Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of emergency care services. 5. Patient Advocacy & Education: Serve as an advocate for patients, ensuring that their needs and preferences are respected throughout the care process. Provide education to patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and follow-up care. Support patients in understanding and navigating their care, especially during times of crisis or uncertainty. 6. Professional Development: Stay current with advances in emergency nursing by participating in continuing education, certifications, and professional development opportunities. JOB SUMMARY: The Clinic Midwife provides obstetrical and women’s health care to the patients of our clinic. The Clinic Midwife reports directly to Clinic Manager. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: RN graduate of accredited school of Nursing must have completed an accredited program for Nurse Midwives. Licensure/Certification: CNM licensure Work Experience: None RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES: Clinic Midwife provides obstetrical care to low risk patients. 2. Clinic Midwife provides women’s health services to patients. 3. Clinic Midwife rotates on call schedule with other midwifes and takes first call when on call for physicians. 4. The mock skill testing requires 3 or 4 mock skills to be performed within 30 minutes or less. Each test must be passed at 80 percent efficiency. After completing the 75 hour minimum classroom portion of the program, students will need to complete a minimum of 100 hours of supervised clinical training, which involves working shifts at the hospital. To become a CNA, you need to complete a state-approved training course, pass a state certification exam, and be placed on your state's nurse aide registry. JOB SUMMARY: The Obstetrical Technician (OB Tech) is an integral clinical support role within the Women’s Health and Newborn Care Service Line, functioning across Labor & Delivery (L&D), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Mother/Baby units. The OB Tech provides supportive patient care, unit readiness, and procedural assistance, which can include serving as a surgical scrub for Cesarean Sections; under the direction of the Registered Nurse. This role is essential to maintaining patient safety, unit efficiency, regulatory readiness, and team responsiveness in a dynamic, high-acuity environment. Responsibilities flex based on unit acuity, patient care demands, and any supportive nursing care as determined by the Charge Nurse or Team Lead. The Obstetrical Technician functions under the direction of the professional registered nurse. The professional registered nurse is ultimately responsible for the coordination and delivery of nursing care to women and newborns. The OB Tech is expected to maintain a 30-minute response time when on call and participate in scheduled Cesarean Section scrub call rotations as assigned.
