RN (School Nurse) Needed Monday-Friday Weekly Pay! SUMMARY Under general supervision, is responsible for providing medical treatment, first aid, emergency care and medications for students in the school programs, under the direction of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with company policies, the regulations and requirements of applicable regulatory agencies and the standards of the profession. Participates in consultative process with parents and team members. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties and responsibilities of the Licensed Practical Nurse - Children's Services will include, but are not limited to the following: Serves and participates as a member of interdisciplinary team. Is responsible for assisting Registered Nurse in coordinating and following through on provisions of health care services for students in program. Keeps progress notes under supervision of registered nurse for each student and summarizes for quarterly, semi-annual and annual reviews. Provides regular and PRN health care to students receiving services as instructed by registered nurse. Provides direct hygiene and health instruction to staff, students receiving services and families as required. Handles control of communicable diseases and infections through identification and assessment. Reports to consulting physician and Infection Control Nurse. Implements appropriate protective and preventive measures. Provides staff training in regard to infection control regularly and as needed. Provides first aid to students in need of immediate care, with referral to registered nurse, private physician or outside emergency services as necessary. Monitors required staff health records and provides tests in accordance with regulatory agency requirements. Keeps up to date and accurate records of examinations, immunizations, illnesses, accidents and other pertinent data of students via progress notes. Administers medications as prescribed. Supervises secured storage of medications. Refers all consults and diagnostic reports to registered nurse for review. Transports students to appointments as necessary. Maintains Nursing Office. Orders supplies and equipment as required. Visits students at home as requested by Director or designee. Keeps abreast of changes in Nursing Services field. A Brief Overview The Quality Management (QM) Coordinator's over-aching aim is to advance the organization's commitment to healthcare quality through collaboration and communication. They will facilitate the integration of quality into the fabric of the organization through a coordinated infrastructure to achieve organizational objectives. The QM Coordinator helps coordinate the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Quality, Safety and Performance Improvement activities. This includes but is not limited to; supporting the performance improvement process, identifying performance trends, prioritizing, and recommending improvements, coordinating hospital-wide Performance Improvement activities regarding strategic initiatives and department goals, and participates in the root cause analysis (RCA) process for applicable serious safety events. Serving as a liaison to other hospital departments and personnel, they will use performance and process improvement (PPI), project management, and change management methods to support operational and clinical quality initiatives, improve performance, and achieve targeted organizational goals. The QM Coordinator will collaborate with key stakeholders to improve care processes by performing quality medical record reviews, assisting in the improvement of the clinical operations, maintaining accurate records of review activities, developing formal charters and improvement plans. They will also be responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory standards and guidelines set forth by accrediting bodies. In collaboration with Leadership, Nursing, Medical Staff and other ancillary departments, they will prepare for, participate in, and follow up on regulatory, accreditation, and certification surveys and activities to facilitate continuous survey readiness. Serving as both a functional leader and data expert in a variety of tasks, namely; quality data reporting programs and measures, data compilation and analysis, process evaluation, and ongoing creation and maintenance of metric dashboards/displays of data to medical, clinical, and executive leadership and other committees as assigned.
