HOW YOU'LL WORK: You’ll assume ultimate accountability and leadership for the assessment of the patient condition and plan of care. You will case manage and provide clinical care under the direction of the physician. You’ll educate patients and their family members and ensures the safety of the patient. You will work autonomously, so you need to be efficient in managing your time. You'll be responsible for all practices and duties within the scope of practice outlined by the state. MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Plan of Care: Observe and monitor patient conditions and perform OASIS assessments (If you don’t already know this assessment, we will teach you!) to develop an individualized care plan and adjust as needs change. Minimize Patient Risk: Administer medication as prescribed by the physician and help decrease re-hospitalizations by prioritizing visits for high-risk patients. Supervision: Oversee and supervise total care of patient provided by nurse aides and LPNs Continuity of Care: Manage multi-disciplinary care as applicable while promoting continuity of care with appropriate admissions, transfers, and discharges. Family Educator/Advocate: Educate the patient and family on the disease process using teach back methods to ensure patient and family understanding. Policies: Complete all clinical documentation following agency protocol and Medicare/Federal guidelines. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and physicians to ensure optimal care is provided. Rules and Regulations: Understand and follow agency policies, procedures, rules, and regulations and communicate changes in schedule/availability to schedulers or supervisors. Operations: Attend in-service training and mandatory agency meetings HARD & SOFT SKILLS: Compassionate communicator with a positive attitude Patience is a virtue when working with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers Attention to detail is critical, as is being observant and following directions REQUIREMENTS : Registered Nurse with current license in the state of employment Minimum one-year experience as an RN in an acute care setting. Responsibilities* Providing focused, episodic care, from pre-op prep, to intra-procedural monitoring and administration of sedation/analgesia, to post-op recovery and patient/family education, for a variety of adult and pediatric patients, accommodating both the in-patient and out-patient populations, requiring radiological exams and or interventional procedures, as well as responding to emergency care call?s in all areas of Radiology. Required Qualifications* Current Michigan licensure as a Registered Nurse. Four (4) of the last seven (7) years experience in ED, Interventional Radiology, ICU, SWAT or Survival Flight. BSN Ability to demonstrate independent decision making in the care of a wide variety of patients, including, but not limited to, potentially hemodynamically unstable patients and/or airway or respiratory compromised patients. Proficient in IV skills both in Adult & Pediatric populations as evidenced by feedback from others/evaluation. Demonstrated ability to work in a less structured environment by feedback from others/evaluation. Demonstrated flexibility in meeting unanticipated demands and priorities of various patient populations as evidenced by feedback from others/evaluation. Work Schedule Hours: 40 hours per week, Day shift: Two 12-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts per week. Start time will be 7am or 8am. On-call commitment (including weekends) is required for this position. Note: Hours for this position may be changed to reflect the activity & needs of the unit. Flexibility in scheduling is required. Schedule could include rotation to other Diagnostic Radiology/ACU sites. All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
