The ACTAT- Cardiology team at our Katy location is seeking an experienced Staff Nurse I to support a highly specialized, outpatient cardiology practice. This role offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule with no nights, weekends, or holidays, providing an excellent work‑life balance while delivering high‑quality patient care. The RN I will partner closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to coordinate and deliver comprehensive care for patients with complex cardiac conditions. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care coordination, clinical support for procedures and diagnostics, patient education, and ongoing collaboration across the care team to ensure safe, efficient, and patient‑centered outcomes. Implements plan of care within scope of practice through assignment and monitoring of other nurses and delegation and monitoring of unlicensed staff. Initiates standing orders for prescription refills and labs as well as standing delegation orders where appropriate. Develops and implements teaching plans for patients concerning maintenance, promotion and restoration of health. Evaluates patients' response and outcomes to education and therapeutic interventions. Communicates effectively with collaborative team while escalating critical results and issues in an appropriate and timely manner. Exercises judgment while coordinating care and referring patients to agencies or health care professionals for other services/transitions in care where indicated. Performs on site and telephone triage using best practice guidelines and documentation to ensure patients receive the right level of care in the right setting at the right time by the right caregiver using the right equipment and supplies. May be responsible for compiling daily or monthly reports. Acts as a patient and healthcare advocate by maintaining a safe environment and promoting quality healthcare and services. Respects and maintains privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines. Adheres to standards of practice for professional nursing. Performs other duties as assigned. Report patient care/conditions/progress to the patient's physician/pharmacy and Clinical Manager continuously. Implement patient care plan in conjunction with patient and family to assist them in achieving optimal resolution of needs/problems. Discharge patients after consultation with the physician and Clinical Manager, preparing and completing needed clinical documentation. Prepare appropriate medical documentation on all patients, including case conferences, patient contacts, medication order changes, re-certifications, progress updates, and care plan changes. Prepare visit/shift reports, update/summarize patient records, and confer with other health care disciplines to provide optimum patient care.
