Pediatrix Neonatology of Houston, an affiliate of Pediatrix Medical Group, seeks outstanding NNPs to join our growing practice. Our established neonatal practice includes over 50 neonatologists and over 100 APRNs and serves 15 hospitals across four leading hospital systems throughout Houston and the surrounding area. We welcome new graduates and provide a comprehensive new graduate orientation program. NNPs in our practice typically provide 24-hour in-house coverage. However, some of our sites offer 12-72 hour shifts to support work-life balance. Each NNP has a home hospital and is part of a core team but must be willing to occasionally rotate through at least one additional hospital within the practice. NNPs and neonatologists work collaboratively in providing comprehensive neonatal care from the delivery room through discharge at multiple Level II and III NICUs, including several tertiary high-risk delivery hospitals and one Level IV hospital (The Woman’s Hospital of Texas). NNPs are an active part of all aspects of caring for the full range of complex neonatal diagnoses. Our ECMO, therapeutic hypothermia, BPD/micro-preemie programs, and a full range of ventilation therapies, including HFOV and HFJV, provide an excellent opportunity for professional growth for both experienced practitioners and new graduates. Our NNPs are also a part of an NNP-led air and ground transport team. Transport duties are not required. Methodist Dallas is a Level I trauma center in downtown Dallas. The practice is a collegial and collaborative environmentof physicians, CRNAs, and RRNAs working in an anesthesia care team model. Our impressive group of CRNAs enjoy a high degree of autonomy and responsibility, while knowing that support is available if the need arises. Our CRNAs and RRNAs provide anesthesia for a variety of cases including general surgery, trauma, kidney and pancreas transplantation, orthopedics, ENT, vascular, plastics, bariatric, GI, IR, urology, OB, EP, and some neurology and cardiac. CRNAs place their own epidurals, spinals, arterial lines, central lines and some peripheral nerve blocks. The MDMC CRNA group has a priority system to determine a go-home order with early out and late shifts spread out evenly amongst the group. Call responsibility is weekends only and consists of back-up call from home on Saturday 7-5 and Sunday 7-3 once every 6-8 weeks. Responsibilities The Pre-op/PACU RN is responsible for the pre-operative and post-operative care of the surgical patient for the department. Multidimensional responsibilities include patient/family teaching and patient care throughout the pre-anesthesia and post-anesthesia recovery phases of care. Certified in Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association. ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of employment. Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.
