Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. Responsibilities The Wound Care Nurse provides skin, wound and, ostomy care to select patient populations. The role is also responsible for patient assessments, planning, supervising, interventions, and evaluations designed to prevent complications of physical disability, restore optimal functioning, and help the patient adapt to an altered life style. Consults with other health care providers for patients in need of skin care, wound care, and ostomy care as requested. Integrates the hospital’s mission and “Guiding Principles” into daily practice.
