QUALIFICATIONS: Currently certified in New Jersey as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Ability to read, write and comprehend English. Long-term care experience preferred. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of a licensed RN or LPN performs nursing services based on the facility’s policies and procedures as regulated by the State of NJ, DOH and Federal regulations. Provides assistance to residents with daily routines and other resident activities as needed. PART I: JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND STANDARDS 1. Follows the plan of care. Attends IDCP meeting as assigned. 2. Demonstrates proper body mechanics. 3. Provides personal care to residents/guests (bathing, cleaning finger nails, shaving and perineal care, etc.) and assures that resident/guest dresses appropriately. 4. Follows infection control procedures (i.e. hand washing/sorting of linens) 5. Performs routine /special skin care as indicated. Reports skin alterations immediately to nurse. 6. Provides privacy for residents and adheres to HIPAA standards. 7. Inquires about residents/guests comfort/discomfort level on a scale of 0-10. 8. Provides restorative care as indicated. 9. Performs routine catheter care 10. Provides care to residents/guests with tubes and special equipment. 11. Transports resident/guest to and from activities. 12.
