Job Description The Registered Nurse in the Sexual Health Center provides direct patient care, coordinates treatment plans, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality outcomes, maintains clinical documentation, adheres to safety protocols, and supports patient education and advocacy. The RN will work partly in the ambulatory fixed site at 200 South Street in Morristown, partly in the Morristown Medical Center Emergency Department, and partly in the community in an Atlantic Mobile Health vehicle and at community-based organizations through Northern New Jersey including, but not limited to, Morris, Sussex, and Passaic Counties. The Sexual Health Department in a small, interdisciplinary team that primarily promotes public health initiatives funded through grants and awards. Public health initiatives include prevention, testing, and treatment for HIV, HCV, and sexually transmitted infections; harm reduction health programming such as preventative care, acute and chronic disease management, and wound care; education and counseling to promote safer sex and use strategies. Principal Accountabilities Patient Assessment: Perform systematic, comprehensive, and accurate assessments. Assess potential discharge needs during the initial assessment process. Administers medications to patients and monitor effects of medications and treatments and report adverse effects in a timely manner. Assess patient for pain level. Provide appropriate intervention, reassessment, and documentation. Systematically monitor the maintenance of protocols, standards, and plans of care. Plans and provides individualized patient education. Clinical Skills: Perform nursing-related skills and activities competently. Analyze situations critically. Maintain complete and accurate documentation. Identify and document realistic long and short-term goals. Complete interdisciplinary plan of care record. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds. Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and revise the plan of care as needed. Recognize and evaluate patient and family responses to therapies and nursing interventions. 3: Professional Skills: Communicate clearly and effectively with all members of the healthcare team. Complete hand-off communication and give complete reports to other caregivers. Demonstrate critical thinking and time management skills necessary for effective patient care. Assume responsibility and accountability for the safe nursing care of assigned patients. Delegate responsibilities appropriately to others. Conducts regular patient rounds to ensure safety and enhance patient experience. Actively participates in daily interdisciplinary huddles to support coordinated care. Utilizes approved clinical communication tools in accordance with organizational standards. Quality and Safety: Adhere to OSHA, Joint Commission, Standards of Nursing Practice supported by NJ BON, professional association, ANA Code of Ethics & Scope of Standards and Practice NJ Board of Health, and hospital standards. Use two patient identifiers and check allergies before medication administration. Follow hand washing protocols and maintain isolation precautions. Properly use and store equipment, checking expiration dates. Demonstrate leadership and function as a resource/mentor. Actively participates in Shared Governance. Outreach and Education: Participate in local, state, and national public health planning initiatives. Assist with monitoring and evaluation of grant-funded projects. Provide education to communities, patients, and families in accordance with grant requirements. Attend external meetings and field-based outreach events. Performs other related duties as assigned. Description The Assistant Nurse Manager is a Registered Professional Nurse with broad knowledge and skills who acts as clinical leader in the daily functioning of the unit and oversight of quality patient care delivery, in conjunction with, or in the absence of, the Clinical Nurse Manager. Nurse Educator (LPN or RN)

New Carlton Nursing Home is seeking a part time, Nurse Educator. 21 hours per week! Responsibilities: On going training programs for employees to ensure maintenance and continuity of high standard of services are being maintained for facility. Plans,develops,organizes,implements,and evaluates the infection control program. Researches current literature and technical reports to ensure that the facility's infection control processes and procedures are maintained to appropriate standards. Communicates compliance related issuses to appropiate parties. Requirements: •Two years of experience as registered nurse in LTC setting preferred; Infection Prevention training strongly preferred. •Knowledge of infection control guidelines, OSHA and regulatory and CDC requirements. •Ability to multitask. Other Skills: •Surveils activities to decrease healthcare-associated infections and improve patients’ outcomes. •Reviews and exercises discretion and judgment when investigating trends, clusters, outbreaks and unusual events. •Identifies and tracks nosocomial infections. •Reports communicable diseases and outbreaks to regulatory agencies. •Provides consultation on epidemiology issues. •Performs medical record review to determine if variations from quality criteria exist and to determine if further peer review is required. •Participates in data collection and analysis to facilitate effective quality outcomes. •Analyzes statistical reports and develops reports that identify compliance or areas for improvement. •Develops, implements and maintains policies and procedures per evidence-based standards. •Provides effective survey preparation and coordination. •Provides consultation, education and training to healthcare personnel.
