Oncology 3 East currently has an opportunity available for a Registered Nurse (RN) . The RN provides culturally sensitive, evidence-based nursing care in accordance with ANA standards, the NJ Practice Act, Joint Commission requirements, and CentraState policies and procedures. Utilizing the nursing process, the RN delivers patient-centered care and evaluates its effectiveness through nurse-sensitive indicators and patient outcomes. Orientation includes completion of Cardiac and Respiratory Courses, ACLS, CentraState IV Course, and CPR certification. Care is delivered through a multidisciplinary, patient-focused model. Responsibilities Provides considerate respectful care focused upon the patient's individual needs to ensure patient satisfaction. Identifies patient problems and formulates nursing diagnosis according to physical, psychological, spiritual/cultural and educational needs in conjunction with a multi disciplinary approach. Consistently includes patient and family in the development of an individualized plan of care. Administers medication as needed following CSHS policies and manufacturer's instructions. Takes immediate and appropriate actions in the event of a medication variance occurrence. Recognizes changes in patient condition and/or emergency situations and takes immediate and appropriate actions. Participates in unit conferences to discuss quality issues and quality improvement strategies. Offers ideas to improve processes for patient safety. Delegates components of care to non-professional caregivers as appropriate. Follows up on any delegated components of care and assignments given. Successfully functions as a Resource Nurse, making decisions in the absence of the Clinical Leader and/or the Nurse Manager. Supports cost containment through efficient use of equipment, supplies and other pertinent resources. Recognizes adverse reaction to medications and takes immediate and appropriate action. Fulfills the requirements for competencies and completion of annual mandatories surrounding indwelling urinary catheters. Supports operations by demonstrating ability and willingness to float between units as an RN and provides 1:1 patient observation when deemed necessary Qualifications Associate’s degree in Nursing required Bachelor's degree in Nursing required within 3 years of hire. Graduate of CSMC Residency program, or Minimum of 1 year acute care RN experience required Related experience preferred. Current NJ RN license required. BLS Certification required. No Weekends! 3 Pennsylvania locations: Langhorne , Horsham , and Abington 10 Ob/Gyn Physicians and 4 Nurse Practitioners On-site ultrasound, 3D Mammography, and in-house lab work. Bonus incentive eligibility Physician Assistants are not being considered at this time. Position Summary: The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive, specialized care to women across the lifespan, focusing on reproductive health, gynecological issues, family planning, and wellness promotion. Practices under the standard procedure established for the Nurse Practitioner role consistent with company policy and in accordance with all legal requirements. Conducts age-appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination consistent with department protocol. Performs routine physical examinations within scope of practice, including pelvic examinations, breast examinations, PAP tests, and any relevant infection screenings. Performs IUD and Nexplanon insertions/removals , Endometrial Biopsies , works with Pessaries - education & maintenance; may perform Colposcopies . Provides education on women’s issues, preventative care, contraceptive methods, and lifestyle modifications. Orders diagnostic tests and prescribes medications within scope of practice. Provides expert, compassionate care for women during the menopausal transition (perimenopause, Menopause, postmenopausal) by managing symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, and sleep issues, educating patients on treatment options (hormonal/non-hormonal), offering lifestyle advice (diet, exercise, supplements), and supporting overall well-being with evidence-based care. Manages prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum visits, screening for pregnancy complications and evaluating physical and mental wellbeing after birth. Confers with patients in person and by phone/electronically, collaborates with others in the department to ensure a smooth flow of patient care consistent with established quality indicators and participates in the overall coordination of patient care. Performs assessment/data collection in an on-going systematic manner, focusing on physiological, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy. Consults with supervising physicians or other clinicians as dictated by patient need and assessment findings. Participates with physicians and other clinicians in the department to ensure effective patient care consistent with quality indicators for patients cared for in the designated service. Reviews medical record for follow up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols. Establishes effective working relationships with members of the health care team, patients, and families. Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles as identified by the practice. Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate people, and documenting events. Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning. Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team. Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information. Must be able to work at each practice location as scheduled. Required Education & Experience: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MS, MSN, or DNP); with focus on Women’s Health highly preferred. Board certification in WHNP, FNP, ANP, or similar. Current unrestricted Pennsylvania Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner license, Prescriptive Authority, and DEA. 2 + years’ Women’s Health advanced practice clinician experience .
