Documents care provided and reports to the RN observations of patient’s physical, social and mental status and basic patient data collected. Demonstrates adherence to safe patient handling policy. Demonstrates time management skills. Maintains the patient care areas to ensure cleanliness, safety and supplies of material and equipment. Assists with screening for medical issues and collects specimens for routine laboratory testing. Observes and reports changes in residents’ physical, mental, or emotional condition to a supervisor or more senior nursing staff in a timely manner. Manages inventory, prepares/submits supply orders, and prepares work orders for equipment repairs and maintenance needs. Ensures charts, medical supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) are stocked and distributed as required. Follows infection control protocols and safety procedures and recommends practice changes when needed. Maintains cleanliness and hygiene in resident rooms and common areas.
