DEFINITION: A Licensed Practical Nurse who cares for patients who are convalescent, aged, or infirm; or when caring for acutely ill patients in a home environment does so under the direction of a Registered Nurse. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE): Authorized to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Oklahoma. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of medical-surgical experience preferred. May consider school attendance record and performance record. Some positions may require additional skills or credentials. Have a command of the English language; have knowledge of nursing procedures, treatment and techniques, and must know basic charting procedures. Must be CPR certified on an annual basis.
