Assigns patients to available nursing staff, taking into consideration the patient's condition and the employee's skill level. Participates in interdisciplinary committees and shared governance councils within the outpatient setting. Helps members of the professional interdisciplinary team to understand and value the unique contributions. Acts as liaisons between nursing, other disciplines, and administration. Promote the philosophy and goals of the organization, the development of team relationships, and outpatient practices. May function in a variety of health care outpatient roles. Oversees and assists with scheduling of nursing staff and managing productivity levels. May fill in for clinical support staff when staffing gaps exist. Develops trusting relationships with staff and patients by demonstrating an empathetic and professional attitude. Assists in the training of new staff members and the development of existing staff members. Practices positive collaboration and converts difficult interactions into productive ones. Measures employee performance. Maintains current certifications in specialty and continues education when necessary as well as tracks and maintains for staff as needed. Manages the process in reviewing results of clinical performance assessments and recommends process improvements. Implements established performance improvement policies and trains employees on these policies. Assists with providing feedback in the collection and preparation of budget information. As needed, oversees inventory levels and supplies for department. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Must have at least three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a clinical role. Two years leadership/management experience preferred. Thorough knowledge of the nursing practice act and standards of nursing care, and a working knowledge of administrative and management techniques. For Rural Health Network facilities only, employees who do not possess a Bachelor’s degree in the required field, leadership may consider an educational plan with proven continuous action toward achieving a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing within five years of hire into position. Assess resident needs, develop care plans, administer nursing care, evaluate nursing care, and supervise CNAs and other personnel in the delivery of nursing care. Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor: Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives that improve the customer experience, enhance workflow, and/or improve the work environment. Complete assessments of residents at admission and discharge. Supervise nursing staff assigned and allocate duties to LPNs and nursing assistants, as directed. Document services rendered to residents for billing purposes. Make daily rounds to monitor resident care and status of residents. Implement established nursing policies and procedures, educating nursing support staff according to facility guidelines. Review charting on a weekly basis for accuracy and completeness. Track infection control, exposure control, and resident care trends to provide proactive improvement. Other special projects and duties, as assigned. Requirements of the Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor: Registered Nurse (RN) with current state license. One (1) to three (3) years related experience required. Previous long term care experience required. Must have a current/active CPR certification. Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
