Roles and Responsibilities: Direct Patient Care- Toileting, ambulating, repositioning, monitoring and recording intake and output of fluids, recording patient weight, obtaining vital signs, and reporting abnormal findings or changes in the patient's conditions to the RN. Reinforcing education with patients; i.e. incentive spirometer use, and fall prevention. Maintaining a clean and organized patient bedside area to ensure a safe workspace. Intentionally rounding on each patient every hour. Mandatory Orientation Training completion required: one full week of Monday through Friday 8a-4p prior to starting work on the unit. Required Skills and Experience: High school or equivalent experience BLS- will be provided if needed Preferred Skills and Experience: NYS Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) Previous patient care experience Physical Requirements: Frequent hand and finger use (e.g., to operate a computer keyboard).
