Job Overview The Operating Room Nurse provides direct patient care in a surgical setting in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Monitors and manages the patient and operative environment during surgery to maintain a safe environment, optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. The Operating Room at Anschutz campus is a 14 OR unit that treats children and adolescents for any level of injury or illness. The unit supports 24 different surgical specialties and performs more than 23,000 cases a year. We are a unique, yet impressive team comprised of bachelor’s prepared nurses, certified surgical technicians, anesthesia technicians, anesthesia providers, and surgeons. The staff in the OR are proud to provide safe quality of care to our patients. They will complete direct patient care duties to ensure optimal patient outcomes and an exceptional patient experience. Responsibilities Completes tasks as delegate by RN with defined role functions and competencies. Assists in data collection to identify the patient’s needs, problems, concerns or human responses (e.g. vital signs, blood pressure).
