Job Description Nemours is seeking a Lead RN for our Primary care Newark, Delaware. The Lead Registered Nurse (RN) - Ambulatory is a clinically competent practitioner of pediatric, family-centered care. The Lead Registered Nurse serves as a resource to the clinical staff in the ambulatory setting. The Lead RN assists the Nurse Manager / Office Manager by providing clinical oversight and direction that ensures the safety and quality of the care provided to patients and families. The Lead RN is responsible for promoting and advancing the professional development of all clinical associates in the ambulatory setting through role modeling, mentoring, and providing feedback. Provides necessary coaching, and collaborates with the Nurse Manager/Office Manager and Physician in Charge to facilitate the day to day clinical operations of the office. Coordinates and monitors orientation of new clinical associates to ensure they meet 90 day performance goals. Provides oversight of clinical staff to ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are followed in the provision of patient care Monitors and ensures completion of annual competencies for clinical staff Serves as flow facilitator for clinical staff in the accurate and timely completion of patient care. Utilizes resources including but not limited to telephone call monitoring, immunization accuracy audits, and EMR chart reviews to provide quantitative and qualitative feedback to clinical staff. Collaborates with nurse/office manager to ensure professional behavior of clinical team members through monitoring of adherence to Nemours Standards of Behavior. Manages medication and vaccine processes to ensure compliance with pharmacy standards and applicable regulations. Assembles instruments, supplies and equipment for all cases. • Observes sterile techniques in preparing for and assists with surgical procedures. Assists scrub tech by opening sterile packs and delivering necessary packets of materials; operates autoclaves for sterilization of necessary accessory items. • Prepares the operative site by doing a surgical scrub to the operative area according to the surgeon’s preferences. • Assists with transfer of patients to the operating/procedure room from pre-op, giving assistance to anesthesia and surgeons and helps transfer patients to recovery following procedures • Assists scrub techs in dressing members of the operating team.
