Purpose of Position: Under the direction of the supervising provider to provide the highest standards of support to the MACC practice. Delivers excellent customer service to patients through participation in a medical care team. Demonstrates a high level of competence with support in accordance with MACC’s policies and procedures. Description Assists in providing clinical care to office patients as delegated by supervising provider Manages provider’s daily schedule and patient flow to expedite care and maximize clinical time Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms, and checks two-patient identifiers Communicates status of delegated task completion to supervising provider Obtains relevant information and takes vital signs as indicated (i.e. height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation) Inputs pertinent clinical information into the electronic health record timely and with accuracy and collects home medication lists Assists clinicians with clinical procedures and/or additional tests specific to the department. Keeps patients informed of visit status, unforeseen delays and other relevant information pertaining to the patient’s visit Prepare and maintain exam rooms for patient arrivals. Clean and/or maintain inventory of supplies (medical included) and equipment throughout the practice. Notifies supervisor to order clinical supplies, clinical equipment and pharmaceuticals as appropriate Under the supervision of a provider, administers routine injections when delegated, and documents in real time and with accuracy Participates in practice and department meetings, trainings, etc. to promote continuous improvement of quality patient care Takes initiative to learn, understand, and stay current with community resources and the greater healthcare system Maintains patient rights and abides by all confidentiality obligations pursuant to CCHC and HIPAA Provides clerical/office support as necessary (i.e. scheduling appointments, greeting and registering patients, scanning incoming medical records and paperwork, preparing medical records, answering phone calls and taking messages, faxing, etc.) Ability to float to other MACC practices when required Performs other work-related duties and activities as assigned or requested Qualifications Ability to read, write and communicate in English Medical Assistant - Certification from either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) Completion of a post-secondary medical assisting program required for PCP Office (Preferred for Specialty Office) Basic Life Support Certification for Health Care Providers Strong interpersonal, customer service, time management skills Experience with current office technology, proficient with computer office applications (Electronic Medical/Health Records, MS Office, etc.) Minimum of two years’ experience in a clinical setting preferred Schedule Details: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:30a - 4:30p, No Weekends & No Holidays Organization : Medical Affiliates of Cape Cod Primary Location : Massachusetts-Mashpee Department : MAC-General Annual/Hourly: Hourly Hiring Pay Range: 24.4 - 29.71

The Ambulatory Surgery Center provides care to pre- and post-op patients for a large variety of ambulatory surgical cases, including but not limited to ENT, General Surgery, Gynecology, Orthopaedic Surgery, and Urology, following established standards, department guidelines and hospital policies and procedures. As an ASC RN supporting Endoscopy and PACU, you will use your strong assessment and critical-thinking skills in collaboration with physicians and anesthesia providers to screen, diagnose, and treat gastrointestinal conditions through procedures such as colonoscopies and EGDs. In this role, you play an integral part in ensuring patient advocacy, safety, and optimal outcomes across the multi-disciplinary care team. A caregiver in this role works days from 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Establish and maintain courteous and cooperative relations with patients and other users of the ASC. Oversee the clinical practice of nursing in the ASC including assessing patient care needs and planning the delivery of care utilizing the nursing process in a variety of settings. Direct other caregivers in providing patient care. Assume charge responsibilities and resolve problems. Report variances from standard practice to the Nurse Manager. Develop educational material and provide health education to patients and families. Process patients through the ASC. Assess the level of personnel skills and the availability of resources to meet established patient outcomes. Actively participate in attaining ASC goals and mission. Monitor and evaluate cost effective practices within the ASC. Participate in the development and utilization of quality monitoring programs within the ASC. Complete all mandatory nursing competencies and educational requirements within a defined time frame. Contribute to the positive atmosphere of the workplace. Demonstrate respect for the cultural and social differences that exist among people. Maintain confidentiality of information regarding patients, families and caregivers.
