The APP provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnostic workup coordination, and medical management for patients referred to suspected malignancy, unexplained mass, or abnormal diagnostic finding requiring further oncologic assessment. The APP independently evaluates new referrals, develops diagnostic plans, orders and interprets testing within scope of practice, coordinates care across specialties, communicates findings to patients and referring providers, and facilitates timely transition to disease-specific oncology teams when cancer is confirmed. When cancer is not identified, the APP collaborates with referring providers and primary care teams to ensure appropriate follow-up and disposition. The UDM APP can practice at the intersection of oncology, diagnostic medicine, and care coordination. Significant collaboration with nurse navigation, pathology, radiology, and disease-specific oncology teams is necessary. All clinical responsibilities are performed within the APP scope of practice, institutional privileges, and under the supervision of an attending physician. This is a part time (50% FTE) position.
