Assessment of chief complaint and notification of physician within 15 minutes of arrival to unit. · Obtains and documents a complete nursing admission assessment, including physiological and psychological factors to develop an interdisciplinary plan of care within eight hours of admission. · Performs and documents an accurate system assessment at the beginning of each shift. Participates in unit based educational activities. Accurate and timely documentation consistent with practice and hospital policy. Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and comprehension. Cross train in PCU per department needs. Qualifications Required: Current CA RN License Current BLS Certification Current ACLS Certification Six (6) months of recent full-time acute care experience in an acute care hospital or equivalent Successful completion of Stroke/Sepsis Education competency within 6 months of hire Preferred: Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) One (1) or more years previous Medical Surgical or Telemetry experience Certification for Progressive Care Nurse (PCCN) Knowledge of Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Overview Nationally Recognized.
