Nurse Practitioner - Complex Care Services Department Summary Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to function in the inpatient Complex Care Service (CCS) at Boston Children’s Hospital. CCS is a long-standing and nationally regarded inpatient service in Pediatric Hospital Medicine within the Division of General Pediatrics that serves hospitalized children with medical complexity, who have complex chronic conditions and functional limitations. Common reasons for admission to CCS include infections (aspiration pneumonia, pyelonephritis), chronic condition exacerbations (epilepsy, digestive dysmotility), and post-operative recovery following surgery (baclofen pump placement, gastrostomy, spinal fusion, etc.). This role will provide patient evaluation, assessment, and facilitate care for the patients on the CCS service and will implement interventions tailored to improve systems for patient care and enhance patient safety for this population. The CCS APRN will work collaboratively with supervising physicians, pediatric trainees (residents and fellows), and the entire nursing team to promote optimal clinical care. The Nurse Practitioner will deliver advanced clinical care, perform patient management visits and hospice Face-to-Face (F2F) encounters for eligibility certification and recertification, and partner closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, compliant, and compassionate care. This role blends autonomy with collaboration, allowing you to guide patients and families through complex medical decision-making, symptom management, and end-of-life care. Ensure that the Nursing Service Procedures Manual is current and reflects the day-to-day nursing procedures performed in this facility. Ensure that all nursing service personnel comply with the procedures set forth in the Nursing Service Procedures Manual. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Oversees and guides employees that are under his/her supervision. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing and completion of a Specialty course/or equivalent within 6 months of hire. BSN preferred. Experience: One-year acute care experience or successful completion of an approved specialty course within 6 months of hire. License/Certification: Current RN license in the State of Nevada. Current BLS Certification. Current ACLS. Certification (adult patients), current PALS Certification (pediatric patients) or current NRP Certification (Neonatal patients) as required by department. Other certification as may be required by facility, specialty or department. Other: Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
