Responsibilities Position Overview: Provides professional nursing care within the Emergency Department (ED), coordinates care planning with other disciplines as required. Qualifications Required: Current CA Registered Nurse License Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification Minimum of six (6) months of recent full-time acute care experience in an acute care hospital or the equivalent Successful completion of Stroke/Sepsis Education competency within 6 months of hire Preferred: Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) Previous ER experience, and/or Six (6) months acute care experience Knowledge of Det Norske Veritas (DNV) & College of American Pathologist (CAP) Requirements Overview Community Memorial Health System was established in 2005 when Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura merged with Ojai Valley Community Hospital. Patients are cared for in our 10 room Ambulatory Care Unit from 11am to 11pm. Responsibilities Responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit and participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse. The RN Staff Nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health System including those for patient assessment and transfer. Qualifications Education: As required by licensure. BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO. Experience: One-year registered nursing experience or completion of either the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program that is equivalent in content, curriculum and duration.
